Terms & Conditions of the Third International Art Prize Arte Laguna: Painting, Photographic art, Sculpture

ART. 1 – Goal
The Italian Cultural Association MoCA (Modern Contemporary Art), in cooperation with Arte Laguna, organizes the Third International Art Prize “Arte Laguna”, directed to the promotion and valorization of the contemporary art.
The Prize is organized under the patronage of the Region of Veneto, Province of Veneto, Province of Venice, Municipality of Venice, Municipality of Mogliano Veneto, Venetian Ca’ Foscari University, Cassamarca Foundation of Treviso, Ascom of Treviso and Mogliano Veneto.
The Prize is subdivided in three sections: painting, photographic art, sculpture.

ART. 2 – Eligible media
The Prize is open to all artists, without any limits of age, sex, nationality or other qualification. Each artist can participate with one or two works, at one or more sections. Technical details:
Painting – total technical and stylistic freedom (oil, tempera, acrylic, ink, vinyl, watercolor, graphite, pencil, collage, etc.) on whichever support (canvas, paper, wood, plastics, iron, etc.).
The max dimensions allowed per each works are 120x120 cm, picture frame included.
Photographic Art - color and b/w analogical photos, color and b/w digital photos, color and b/w digital elaborations, works entirely realized on computer. Videos are not admitted. The max dimensions allowed per each works are 120x120 cm.
Sculpture – whichever organic or inorganic material. Works can make use of sounds, lights, videos, mechanical or electrical movements. It is possible to present digital photographic projects or videos (film or 3D computer graphic). The max dimensions allowed per each works are: base 1mtr, depth 1mtr, hight 2mtr, weight 25kg.

ART. 3 – Jury
The selection of the artworks will be carried out by 3 Juries composed by experts of Contemporary Art:

Photographic Art President of the Jury: Marcello Carriero, critic of Art - Laurent Fabry, Direttore di Photosapiens.com - Ilaria Piccioni, critic of Art - Carlo Sala, critic of Art - Viviana Siviero, critic of Art - Igor Zanti, critic of Art
Scultura President of the Jury: Igor Zanti, critic of Art - Carlo Sala, critic of Art - Viviana Siviero, critic of Art - Gloria Vallese, historian of Art

ART. 4 - Application
The application fee for the partial support of the organization expenses is of 35,00 euro per 1 work and 60,00 euro per 2 works proposed for the same section (see art.6). Application fees are no-refundable. For students under 25 years who are attending art schools or Academy of Fine Arts the shareholding is 30,00 euro per 1 work and 60,00 euro per 2 works proposed for the same section (school certificate is required). Application fees are no-refundable.

ART. 5 - Conditions of participation

All the Artists can enter for the Prize within the 28th August 2008 (the postmark will attest it).

1) On-line: by filling in the form at www.artelagunaprize.com after the payment of the application fee.

2) per post or by means of hand-carry delivery at Arte Laguna - Via Roma, 29/A - 31021 Mogliano V.to (TV) - ITALY of the following material: filled out application module (downloadable at www.artelagunaprize.com), short biography, picture of the works (minimum size: 15x20 cm; maximum size: 20 x 30) with indication on the back of name, surname, country, title, dimensions (base x height), technique, year, copy of the payment of the application fee. The documentation and the photos won’t be given back.

The payment of the application fee can be made:
1. by paying-in slip addressed to Cultural Association MoCA [c/c (current account) nr. 80409584] under the cause “Concorso 2008”
2. by bank transfer addressed to Cultural Association MoCA - POSTE ITALIANE - ADDRESS: PREGANZIOL (TV) ITALY [IBAN: IT38 F076 0112 0000 0008 0409 584 - BIC/SWIFT: BPPIITRRXXX] under the cause “Concorso 2008”
3. on-line by Pay Pal

ART.8 - Jury
The Jury will select 30 finalist artworks per section. The finalist works will be exposed in different expositive setting:
Painting: Collective exposition at Brolo Centro d’Arte e Cultura in Mogliano Veneto (TV) from 18th October until 2nd November 2008
Photographic Art: [1 group] Collective exposition at Spazio Espositivo “InParadiso”, Giardini Biennale, in Venice from 23th November untill 14 December 2008 and [2 group] expositive exposition at Galleria dell'Istituto Romeno di Cultura e Ricerca Umanistica in Venice from 22nd October until 2nd November 2008
Sculpture: collective exposition at Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche Spazi Bomben per la Cultura in Treviso from 4th untill 19th October 2008
Arte Laguna will take care of the arrangement and organization of the collective expositions. Each artist will take care of the round-trip transportation costs and of any insurances.
The names of the winners of each section will be communicated in occasion of the opening of the collective expositions and publish on-line at www.artelagunaprize.com


ART. 7 – Prizes

ISTITUTIONAL PRIZES
1 PRIZE Painting: 4.500,00 euro
1 PRIZE Photographic Art: 4.500,00 euro
1 PRIZE Sculpture: 4.500,00 euro
The winner artworks will become a private property of the Sponsors that will offer the Prizes. Winner Artists will receive a certification and a copy of the Catalogue of the Prize.

“Galleria d’Arte l’Occhio – Venice” : Personal Exibition – Photographic Art
“Spazio Arte dei Mori - Venice” : Personal Exibition – Photographic Art
"Galleria Paci Arte - Brescia" : Personal Exibition – Photographic Art
"Galleria Wannabee - Milan" : Personal Exibition - Painting
“Galleria III Millennio - Venice” : Personal Exibition – Sculpture

Personal exibition will be comprehensive of arrangement, opening and press releases. Each Gallery will take care of the arrangement, organization and advertisement on the expositions. Each artist will take care of the round-trip transportation costs and of any insurances. All the artworks will remain the propriety of the Artists. Each Gallery will agree with the Artists the rate of the commission on the eventual selling price. Arte Laguna will take care of the arrangement of a virtual gallery at www.artelagunaprize.com where will be exposed some pictures of each artist’s artworks and personal biography.

“Capo d’Opera”: selection of one or more artists for the realization of an artistic line of furniture
“Inside Art”: publication of an editorial on INSIDE ART dedicated to each institutional winner artist and to 3 more artists selected by the Magazine.
“Radio Imago”: personal interview on Radio Imago dedicated to each institutional winner artist and to 3 more artists selected by the Radio. Collective exposition of the finalist artworks in a virtual gallery at SecondLife.com , in a Radio Imago’s Land . Radio Imago will take care of the arrangement of the exposition.
“Seroxcult.com”: virtual gallery dedicated to the institutional winners of the Prize at Seroxcult.com, Seroxlab section.
Special Prize "Photosapiens.com": 1 year subscribtion to Photosapiens.com's professional on-line directory to 1 artist chosen by Photosapience.com among the finalists of the photography section.

“Virtual Gallery”: the pictures of the finalists artworks will be published at www.artelagunaprize.com and will can be voted for the assignment of a 1 year-long virtual gallery at Premioartelaguna.it
The winner of the special prizes will receive a certification and a copy of the Catalogue of the Prize.

ART. 8 – Responsabilities
The organization, by assuring the greatest care and custody of the works, refuses all responsibility in case of thefts, fire or any damages to whichever painting or person that could occur during the event. Any insurance request will be supported by the Artists. Each Artist must keep itself informed about the developments of the Prize, that will be constantly published at www.artelagunaprize.com. The organization will send its mailing list all the pertinent communications. We invite all the Artists to give the organization a real e-mail address and to daily read the post.

ART. 9 – Agreement
the decisions of the commission are irrevocable. The awarded Artists have the right to give the prizes up without asking Arte Laguna any kind of compensation. In that case the award will be re-assigned according to the classifications drafted by the Juries. Each Artist gives Arte Laguna the right of replication of the works and text for the realization of the Catalogue, the archive of entries, the publication on-line of the artworks and other forms of communication and/or organization activities. Each Artist gives the Cultural Association MoCA and Arte Laguna the authorization to the treatment of the personal data according to the law on the privacy (Legislative Decree n° 675/96 and n° 196/2003). The participation to the prize implies the knowledge and the total acceptance of this regulation.
